Week of February 18, 2026

February 18, 2026·5 min read

Roblox moves fast. New games go viral, old favorites get updates, and the slang changes weekly. Here's what's trending right now so you know what your kids are talking about.

The Big One: Grow a Garden

If your kid is glued to Roblox right now, there's a good chance it's this one. Grow a Garden broke records this month with over 10 million concurrent players, making it the biggest Roblox game ever by that measure.

What is it? A calm farming game. Plant seeds, water crops, harvest, sell, repeat. Think Stardew Valley but simpler and more social.

Parent notes:

  • ✅ Relaxing, non-violent gameplay
  • ✅ No chat required to play
  • ⚠️ Has in-game purchases (seeds, upgrades)
  • Good for: Kids who like cozy, creative games

The "Brainrot" Games

You've probably heard your kid say "brainrot" or "skibidi." These meme-inspired games are everywhere right now:

Steal a Brainrot

What is it? You have a base full of meme characters called "brainrots" that earn you money. Goal: steal other players' brainrots while protecting your own.

Parent notes:

  • ✅ Simple, competitive gameplay
  • ⚠️ Player vs player — some trash talk in chat
  • ⚠️ "Brainrot" humor may seem bizarre (that's intentional)

Plants vs Brainrots

What is it? Tower defense game based on Plants vs Zombies, but enemies are meme characters.

Parent notes:

  • ✅ Strategic, non-violent (cartoon style)
  • ✅ Single-player friendly
  • Good for: Kids who like puzzle/strategy games

Steady Favorites (Still Huge)

These games have been popular for years and aren't going anywhere:

Blox Fruits

Anime-inspired adventure game. Eat magical fruits, gain powers, explore islands, fight bosses. This is the second most-played Roblox game ever with 52+ billion total visits.

Parent notes:

  • ⚠️ Combat-focused (swords, powers)
  • ⚠️ Heavy in-app purchases for rare fruits
  • ⚠️ Open chat — trading is a big part of gameplay
  • Your kid's friends probably play this

Brookhaven RP

Life simulator. Pick a house, drive around, roleplay as different characters (police, firefighters, families). The most visited Roblox game ever with 69 billion visits.

Parent notes:

  • ✅ Creative, open-ended play
  • ⚠️ Social roleplay — chat is central
  • ⚠️ No content moderation within private servers
  • Worth extra supervision due to roleplay nature

Murder Mystery 2

Each round: one murderer, one sheriff, everyone else survives. Classic whodunit gameplay.

Parent notes:

  • ⚠️ Theme involves "killing" (cartoonish, no gore)
  • ⚠️ Active trading economy — watch for scams
  • Good for: Kids who like Among Us-style games

Rising This Week

Games gaining momentum right now:

  • The Forge — Mining + crafting + combat. Watch for in-app purchases.
  • Anime Paradox — Tower defense with anime characters. Mild cartoon combat.
  • Parkour Champions — Movement/racing game. Very low risk.
  • Devil Hunter — Combat game inspired by Chainsaw Man. Teen themes, PvP.

Slang Check

Heard your kid say these this week?

  • Skibidi — Can mean good, bad, cool, or weird. Context-dependent. Comes from "Skibidi Toilet" YouTube series.
  • Brainrot — When something is so absurd/catchy it "rots your brain." Used both as insult and compliment.
  • Rizz — Charisma, charm (especially flirting ability)
  • Sigma — Independent, lone-wolf type. Usually a compliment.
  • Gyatt — Expression of excitement, or referring to someone attractive

This Week's Safety Tip

Check your kid's friends list. Roblox makes it easy for kids to accept friend requests from strangers. Go to Settings → Privacy and review who can send friend requests, who can message them, and who can join them in games. Takes 2 minutes.
